Tanner
Yes, it is true! Jessica and I gifted each other a Golden Retriever pup for Christmas. Tanner is currently 8 wks. old and weighs in at 13.5 lbs.

OWWL Access
A few weeks ago I changed my primary library in the OWWL Pioneer Library System to the Sodus Free Library in Sodus, NY.
I haven't used my OWWL card in years--having lived in Monroe County for the majority of the last 5 yrs. as an RIT student.
The OWWL acronym itself represents the counties the library system serves: Ontario, Wayne, Wyoming, and Livingston. It is basically a networked system of libraries allowing a cardholder to reserve materials from any of the connected libraries and on a given date, pick up those materials at the cardholder's primary library.
Thus, as Sodus is just off Rt. 104 on my drive between work in Rochester and home in Huron, I chose SFL as my home station.
The Sodus Free Library News blog and SFL Calendar of Events & Closings are two resources I've just discovered and are maintained by the Library Director, Carol.

RIT Dubai
As an RIT alumnus, I always enjoy seeing my alma mater expanding its presence and contributions to worldly growth.
RIT already has existing programs in Dubrovnik, Croatia and Pristina, Kosovo.
Rochester Institute of Technology is planting roots in the Middle East with a planned campus in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, scheduled to open next fall. [read article]

NYS Thruway Map
The New York State Thruway Authority provides a statewide Google Map on its website, showing the locations of all Exits and Travel Plazas.
The viewer can customize the map to include significant incidents affecting travel such as accidents and lane closures. There are also quick links on the page enabling the user to perform an area zoom for Buffalo, Rochester, Syracuse, Albany, and New York Metro.
I find this resource useful as an easy reference when planning carpools for trips to both the Adirondacks and Sports / Concert venues.
